Next Top Blockchain Trader is Canada’s largest intercollegiate cryptocurrency trading event. Compete against the best and become Canada’s Next Top Blockchain Trader.
Welcome to the inaugural edition of Canada’s Next Top Blockchain Trader, hosted by MLG Blockchain in partnership with Huobi Canada. The goal of this competition is to encourage Canada’s top university students to educate themselves on blockchain trading, while thinking critically and strategically about its implications.
To get started, create a team of up to four members. In your team, develop a trading strategy addressing the way you a believe a winning portfolio would look in the current cryptocurrency landscape. Publish your medium article by September 29th, 2018 and share the link to the Next Top Blockchain Trader registration.
Each week, you will need to give an update of the main trades and how your portfolio is doing vs. the original expectations of your trading plan.
On October 27th, the top three teams will be invited to a day long in-person trading competition. At the end of the event, the winning teams will receive $5,000 Huobi Tokens prizes, an interview at MLG Blockchain and Huobi Canada, and the title of Canada’s Next Top Blockchain Trader! Second place will receive $3,000 (HT), and third place will be presented with $2,000 HT.
The trading competition will take place over the course of 1 month. In order to ensure that the trading strategies are fair and comparable, there will be strict rules on the allowed trading pairs.

First round opens on September 27th, 2018. By this time your trading strategy must be published with an email sent to the organizers with the link.
First public update on where your portfolio stands with current strategy. Highlight the main wins and losses of the strategy and how you plan to continue.
Second public update on where your portfolio stands with ongoing strategy. Highlight the main wins and losses of the strategy and how you plan to continue. Top 3 teams will be announced and receive invitation for the final trading day in Toronto.
A full day of trading in toronto will take place, and the top 3 teams will present their strategies and results. Judges will then announce the winner in front of the crowds and distribute the prizes.
